I remember as kids, my family used to sneak foil wrapped homemade Banh Mi into theme parks as our lunch. You can stuff Banh Mi with any variation of meat your heart desires, but this one right here is a uncomplicated version just like mom used to make.

Ingredients

FRENCH BAGUETTE
VIETNAMESE HAM (Pork Roll/Chả Lụa), THINLY SLICED
PÂTÉ
CILANTRO
CUCUMBER, SLICED IN THIN STRIPS
JALAPEÑO, SLICED
PICKLED DAIKON RADISH AND CARROTS
MAGGI
SALT
PEPPER
BUTTER

You can get Vietnamese ham and pickled daikon radish and carrots at Vietnamese/Chinese markets like @99ranchmarket or at stores like @lees_sandwiches. Or you can make your own pickled with this recipe.

Instructions

Spread the butter and pate on the bread, then add the Vietnamese ham. Sprinkle some Maggi all over with a pinch of salt and pepper. Add some springs of cilantro and slices of cucumber. Finish with the pickled vegetables and slices of jalapeño (I used homegrown peppers because I didn’t have any).
